Dreamy Strawberries & Cream Scones

May 2, 2014

Usually I’m a cereal or yogurt and granola kind of girl, but I was really craving something special for breakfast, and so I made these Dreamy Strawberries & Cream Scones.  And they really are dreamy! Have you ever made scones before? Scones can seem a little bit intimidating, but they are really not too complicated.  I’ve…

Cucumber Sandwiches With Whipped Goat Cheese

April 30, 2014

I hesitate to post recipes here that are simple.  A little too basic.  Even though I love them, I worry that you all might wonder, Does she really think we need her to explain how to make a cucumber sandwich? Perhaps you all are not only looking for recipes, but also for ideas and inspiration.  I’m…

Springtime Pasta With Brown Butter Garlic Cream Sauce

April 28, 2014

I’m writing this post while I’m visiting my little brother’s family in Southern California.  Little Boy #2 and I had some special bonding time on our road trip to get here, and he is having an absolute blast playing with his 3 year old cousin who thinks he is the funniest boy in the world….

Lovely Little Bits and Pieces

April 25, 2014

Lots of random little bits to share with you!  Can you believe April is coming to an end?  I’m so glad Spring is here in full swing.  Here’s what we have been up to lately… 1.  I’m a reading fanatic kind of mama.  I snapped this pic in the car (at a red light of…

Moist, sweet, and full of almond flavor with a swirl of raspberry preserves and a crunchy crumbly crumb topping.

Raspberry Almond Crumb Bars

April 23, 2014

Oh my friends, these Raspberry Almond Crumb Bars are exceedingly exceptionally amazingly delicious! They are a bit hard to describe, because they are neither cookie nor cake. They might be related to a coffee cake, but are richer, and more dessert like.  They are moist, sweet, and full of almond flavor.

Southwestern Chicken Taco Pie

April 21, 2014

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  We celebrated Easter with lots of family – ham, Butterhorn Rolls, Easter egg hunts, church, attempts at taking pictures of large groups of small children, swimming, and even a piñata!  Fun and full… that’s what we are.  And thankful too.  Thankful for the Hope we have. So I…

The Best Butterhorn Rolls

April 16, 2014

My family calls these “Julie Rolls”.  In the summer of 1995, I found the recipe in a Taste of Home magazine that my mom subscribed to.  Since making them for the first time when I was 15 years old, I would estimate I’ve made them at least fifty times.  My extended family gathers together for…

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

April 14, 2014

My goodness, Easter Sunday has really snuck up on me this year, which is strange because you’d think with it being so late in April I’d have been anticipating its coming and planned accordingly. But I promised I would share some ideas for your Easter menu in addition to some fun desserts, so here we…

Strawberry and Spinach Salad With Almond Vinaigrette

April 11, 2014

Like a lot of food bloggers, I started blogging when my first little baby boy was born.  It was a good way to keep everyone informed about all the important milestones – like the first time he slept more than 2 inches away from me, wore the color green, or tooted and smiled about it….

Easy Donut Hole Cake Pops

April 9, 2014

I’m the first to admit I can be a little lazy.  I’m a hard working mama most of the time, but that lazy bone that some people don’t have?  I think I might have a tiny one in me somewhere.  Every once in a while, I’ll see it surface. Like when we are trying to…
