We do green smoothies almost everyday. My kids call them salad smoothies, and they love to see how much spinach they can stuff into the blender. It’s a great way to ease that mommy guilt when you let your kids have popcorn for breakfast. There are so many variations and ways to change it up, but this is our go to recipe.
If green smoothies are new to your kids, start out with a little bit of spinach and gradually add a little more each day. It also helps to start them young! My boys had these smoothies as soon as they could have dairy and drink from straw.
- 1 banana
- 5 frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 cup milk or almond milk
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 1 tablespoon strawberry jam
- Blend. You may need to add more liquid as you go, depending on the type of blender you have.
This recipe makes enough for my three boys and usually a little leftover for me too.
