Hey there! Going to keep it short and sweet today because we are checking in real quick from a little summer vacation. I didn’t want to leave you hanging without a new recipe this week, so I thought I’d share a new favorite treat we’ve been enjoying lately!
LLK readers, meet the Caramel Apple Float. Caramel Apple Float, meet the loveliest readers ever!
Now that you all have been properly introduced, just sit back and I’ll explain what we have for you today. For sure, less of a recipe and more of a really good idea, this is simply salted caramel ice cream with sparkling apple cider. And it’s marvelous!
My MIL gave me the idea when she pointed out a page in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine, where they gave a few ice cream and soda combinations that would be really fun to try besides just the typical root beer and vanilla.
We tried a few different combinations (like raspberry sorbet and sparkling lemonade) and I have to say the caramel apple float was the one I couldn’t get enough of. SO GOOD!
And just for good measure, I added some whipped cream, a caramel drizzle, and a paper straw because the camera loves anything drizzled and food bloggers can never resist an opportunity to throw in a paper straw, right?
Try this and let me know how you like it! See you all next week.

Hi Julie, I thought I would tell you that while I was stocking up on the ingrediants to make your Caramel Apple Float at Trader Joe’s , I mentioned to some employees about your recipe. They wanted to know details and exclaimed “Genious” Other customers gathered around that overheard and wanted to know details also. Just thought you might get a kick out of the excitement your recipe created iat a Trader Joe’s in Maple Grove Mn. I just finished the float and I have to agree, GENIOUS!!! Thanks for a great summer refresher!
