Do you write your own recipes?
Most of the recipes shared on Lovely Little Kitchen are either written by me or are adapted from a recipe found in my dear, sweet mother’s recipe box. Occasionally, I adapt a recipe found in my cookbook collection. I also love reading other food blogs, and am always inspired by what my fellow foodies have come up with. I am cursed/blessed with the inability to follow a recipe, and always have this notion that a slight variation might just be the next greatest thing! So I tweak, adapt, reinvent, and then once I feel like I’ve got it just right, I share it with you on Lovely Little Kitchen. I always note where my recipes are adapted from or inspired by in my recipe instructions.
I have a recipe question…
If you have a questions about one of my recipes, the best thing you can do is write it in the comment section of that particular recipe. Chances are, someone else will benefit from your question as well. If you try a recipe shared here on Lovely Little Kitchen, and it doesn’t turn out the way you had hoped, here are a few possible reasons.
I try very hard to balance writing my recipes with enough detail to help you succeed, but not so much detail that the recipe is lengthy and overwhelming to my readers. So do your best to follow my recipes as they are written. I find it always helps to read through the whole recipe carefully before beginning to put things together.
Another possible reason for a recipe not working out is that I made an error when writing it. I usually read them over a few times over a three day period before I publish them, and also have my husband edit them too. But it’s definitely happened before and will happen again– a typo slips through, or an ingredient is left out. So thanks for your patience with me ahead of time! My readers have been so sweet to gently and kindly bring these errors to my attention, which is always appreciated.
Lastly, I have to acknowledge that what I may think is delicious may not be so to everyone. So I may sing the praises of a recipe that you only find to be mediocre. Such is life! We are all made wonderfully and uniquely with a set of taste buds like no one else — which is a really cool thing!
Is this your full time job?
Before I had my three little boys, I worked as a labor and delivery nurse. As much as I loved that, I really love staying home with my family. So it is my desire that my passion for food and this humble little blog will become something that allows me to work hard but from the comfort of my own little kitchen, cooking with and for my family as we share recipes and ideas with you all along the way!
What is your favorite recipe?
That’s kind of like picking your favorite child, haha! But if I must, my favorite healthy recipes are my Harvest Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette, as well as Honey Oat Energy Bites. My favorite dessert is probably my Mini Berry Tarts.
Do you send recipes out by email?
