The Baker’s Appendix
From measurement conversions to altitude adjustments to how to cut parchment paper to line a pan, every baker needs this book! It’s small, simple, and will answer all your kitchen questions.
-
Silicone Baking Mat
These are reusable and easy to clean. I like to store them right on my baking trays so they are ready to go!
-
Stainless Steel Spatula
Just the right size for getting that brownie in the middle of the pan out first. These have a way of disappearing so it’s always nice to have a good stash!
-
Instant Read Thermometer
It’s so nice to have a thermometer nearby so that you don’t have to guess when your baked goods are done!
-
French Rolling Pin
This style of rolling pin changed everything for me! So much easier to control and the dough won’t stick to them!
-
Ceramic Pie Crust Weights
These might seem fussy, but they are really handy for blind baking pie shells.
-
Denim Jean Apron
Studies show that recipes turn out better when the baker wears an apron. Just kidding, but they do give you a boost of confidence, don’t you think?
-
Parchment Paper Baking Sheets
Precut parchment paper baking sheets are wonderful! I’m going through about a pack a year.

Maldon Sea Salt Flakes
Maldon Salt is an English sea-salt. It comes in large, thin, uneven, crunchy saltflakes that have a very clean, pure salt taste. It is meant to be a finishing salt, used at the table in small amounts, rather than in cooking. I’m sold.

Flat Whisk
This is a great whisk for making a roux, pan sauce, or even just hot cocoa. I love the way the whisk lays flat on the bottom of the bowl or pan. Very efficient whisking!
