Chocolate Banana Smoothie Made With Silk Cashewmilk

I’m happy to be partnering with Silk for this smoothie recipe to help spread the word about the creamy, delicious taste of their newest addition, Cashewmilk!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie topped with banana slices and chocolate chips, in a glass jar with a straw, sitting next to a small bowl of cocoa powder, a bunch of whole bananas and a carton of Silk Cashewmilk.

A few days ago I posted a recipe for this amazing Chocolate Chocolate Chip Greek Yogurt Banana Bread, and I guess this is chocolate banana week here on LLK because today I’m sharing a super yummy smoothie featuring the very same ingredients – Chocolate and Banana!  This smoothie is made with only three ingredients – frozen banana chunks, cocoa powder, and Silk Cashewmilk.  I usually stick with an all fruit smoothie plus a handful of spinach, so this was a really fun way to change things up a bit.

I get many questions from you all about dairy alternatives that can be substituted in my recipes.  When I heard that Silk was introducing a new product, a creamy non-dairy milk made from cashews, I really wanted to try it.  I found a lot of ways to use it!  I tried it as creamer for my coffee (perfect!) and also to make oatmeal for breakfast.  It is just slightly sweet, and very creamy with a slight nuttiness that really complimented the oats.

I also used Silk Cashewmilk in this smoothie.  If you like those frozen chocolate covered bananas with a sprinkle of nuts, this is for you!  Freezing the banana before you blend makes it extra thick.  I love that the ingredients used here are so simple.   If you are trying to keep your smoothies on the lighter side, Silk Cashewmilk is a great option because it has fewer calories than skim milk, and is a great source of calcium and vitamin D.

Tastes like an indulgent chocolatey milkshake, but with way less guilt!

This smoothie is great 🙂 The banana and chocolate is a wonderful combination and it is still refreshing and not too heavy. This will definitly be a staple in our house! Thanks for sharing.
