This Apple Cobbler is easy, cozy, and so delicious! It’s the perfect way to gather up your loved ones and celebrate that fall season’s arrival.

  • 1/2 cup butter, salted (1 stick)
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place butter in a 9 by 13-inch pan and put in the preheating oven to melt the butter.  When butter is completely melted, remove the pan from the oven and set aside.
  3. Peel, core, and thinly slice apples.  In a large bowl, mix apples with 1/4 cup of the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  4. In another large bowl, whisk the remaining 1 1/2 cups flour with granulated sugar, salt and baking powder.  Slowly add the milk, whisking as you go.  Add vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the baking dish over the melted butter, and then add the apples in an even layer over the top of the batter.
  6. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the top is turning golden brown.  Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
